Meeting, Yoka
overview
The most beautiful flowers are
It is said that this is the moment just before it is about to bloom.
Before it takes shape,
Before giving it meaning,
before judgment is made.
By serving flowers, the space becomes tidy,
The scent of flowers gently permeates the garment.
At that moment, deep in my heart,
There is a feeling of quiet and clarity.
At the Yoka no Kai,
Immerse yourself in the movement of flowers and the natural world.
Rather than aiming for the correct form,
Enjoy the time, even as it fades away.
The flowers wither and lose their shape.
Perhaps the feeling that opened up during that time was,
It remains quietly in my mind.
We call them the remaining flowers here.
This is not just about learning something,
It's a quiet time to return to your true self.

What we aim for
In this group, we value what we choose to do more than what we do. We choose what moves us, not what is quick or the right answer. We believe that the accumulation of these choices will shape our daily lives.
SHIYA meetings are a place where people can quietly return to senses that are often lost through the activities of arranging flowers, brewing tea, and handling incense and tableware.
It's about remembering the senses you were born with in your daily life.
We value the beauty of asymmetrical beauty, the feeling of love before it is put into words, and the act of unconsciously moving the mind and body.
I hope that after this time, when I return to my daily life, I will be able to trust my own choices a little more.
That is what this association aims to achieve.
About Ikebana
This is a practical flower class where participants learn to arrange flowers through ikebana and nageire.
In each lesson, we carefully cover how to handle the flowers, how to connect them to the container, and the basic techniques for holding the flowers in place. However, the aim is not to trace the correct shape or to compete for skill.
It's not about what to add, but what to leave behind.
It's not about where you put it, but which one you choose.
Because nageire is a style of arranging that offers a high degree of freedom, I cherish the time I spend arranging flowers while facing my own intuition. Technique is a support that allows me to trust my intuition. Through repeated practice, quiet changes will emerge not only in the flowers, but also in the choices I make in my daily life.
What you'll learn
- Basic method of arranging nageire
- How to identify and handle flower materials
- How to create a relationship between a container and flowers
- Practical techniques for arranging flowers
- Practice to remember your own senses and develop your sense of beauty
*Beginners are also welcome to participate.
